What is remarkable, besides the amount character entity escaping a headline is subjected to in modern cashier systems, is that even the original typography would be wrong at least in German typesetting: ' yields a straight «apostrophe» ', as opposed to the typographic apostrophe ’ that looks like a comma (and that can be produced in HTML by ’). Note that both ways of writing apostrophes would be legal in English, but not in German.
